Polypropylene (PP) is a semi crystalline thermoplastic polymer produced by polymerizing propylene monomer. Its chemical formula is (C3H6)ₙ, and it has a density of 0.89-0.92 g/cm³, making it one of the thermoplastic resins with the lowest density.
With a melting point range of 164-176°C and an operating temperature range of -30-140°C, PP exhibits qualities such as lightweight, wear resistance, and chemical corrosion resistance.
It is a white waxy solid, non-toxic and odorless, with a transparent appearance and lightweight texture. Excellent fatigue resistance, suitable for applications with repeated bending or twisting, with a water absorption rate of only 0.01% and excellent water stability.
Acid, alkali, alcohol and other corrosive substances, but weak tolerance to aromatic solvents (such as benzene). Good biocompatibility, in line with medical material safety standards.
It can be formed through extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, and other processes, with a shrinkage rate of 1.8%~2.5% (reduced to 0.7% by adding glass fiber). Easy to dye, but attention should be paid to the possible precipitation of small molecule substances at high temperatures.
