LLDPE , short for linear low-density polyethylene, is a type of polyethylene derived by incorporating short branched chains into HDPE. This unique structure allows LLDPE to exhibit a blend of low-density polyethylene's flexibility and high-density polyethylene's strength. The key attributes of LLDPE include high toughness, ease of processing, and resistance to low temperatures .
HDPE exhibits extremely strong toughness, surpassing LDPE in terms of impact resistance and puncture resistance. For instance, plastic bags made from HDPE can withstand heavy objects without easily breaking. It also boasts outstanding low temperature resistance, maintaining good toughness even at -40°C without becoming brittle. In addition, HDPE has medium transparency with slightly lower surface glossiness compared to LDPE.
HDPE is resistant to acids, alkalis, and organic solvents. It also provides a good barrier against water and water vapor. Furthermore, HDPE offers excellent electrical insulation properties, making it suitable for use as an insulation layer for wires and cables.
With good fluidity, HDPE is easily formed through processes such as blow molding and extrusion. It has a wide processing temperature range and high production stability, making it ideal for large-scale manufacturing of films, pipes, and other products.

In the packaging industry, polyethylene is the most widely used material, accounting for the highest percentage. It is commonly employed in manufacturing stretch wrap film for packaging purposes, as well as food packaging film, agricultural film (such as puncture-resistant greenhouse film), and heavy packaging film used for packaging fertilizers and feed.
Polyethylene also plays a crucial role in the production of pipes and profiles. It is utilized to create the inner layer of water supply pipes, gas pipes (taking advantage of its flexibility and sealing properties), as well as corrugated pipes, cable trays, and other related products.
Besides the aforementioned sectors, polyethylene is also utilized in various other fields. It is commonly used for manufacturing wire and cable insulation layers, plastic toys, container covers, and disposable items like gloves and aprons.
